The College of Education

The College of Education/Sharazoor is one of the University of Halabja colleges which was established in 2019 by the Minstrial Decree No. 5419. The college campus is located in the Sharazoor Disctrict (Also known as the New Halabja) and consists of 3 departments which are Department of Kurdish, Department Kindergarten and Department of Human Development. The three departments have their evening classes as well.

Academic Profile

Our college

Our college is one of the important ones at University of Halabja whose establishment goes back to 2019 when Kurdish department was originally affiliated under the College of Basic Education. The continuous efforts of the department staff played a great role in establishing the college. As for the academic year (2021 - 2022), our college offered morning graduate programs in Kurdish language, Human Development and Kindergarten. Additionally, the same programs are given in evening classes. In addition to undergraduate programs, our college offers Master programs in Kurdish language. Here at our college, we have a clear scientific perspective based on modern critical thinking. In educating our students, they develop complete trust in contemporary education. We are flexible in adapting to the current methods of teaching in higher education and we believe that our higher education system is integrated with the net connecting the world's universities. Therefore, we do our best to confront all kinds of obstacles and adapt to the global needs in science and education.

Among the Missions of the college include developing educational experts for high schools in Kurdistan Region, conducting scientific and academic activities in forms of seminars, scientific gatherings and finally carrying out research in different fields of education.

College Council

What is the College Council and what does it do?

The College Council is composed of the Dean of the College, Heads of Departments, Employes Representatives, and, when necessary, Student Representatives. The council is responsible for discussing all scientific and administrative matters within the college, including the determination of work and rest schedules, examination schedules, and admission issues.

The College Council performs the following functions:

Recommending admission requirements for academic departments and overseeing their implementation after approval.
Recommending the number of students to be admitted at the beginning of each academic year.
Proposing plans for the establishment of new scientific departments and branches, as well as suggesting the creation, merger, or dissolution of existing scientific departments or branches.
